Details about camps can be found by reading below. We must have an Emergency Procedure Form for each child.
The Emergency Procedure Form needs to be notarized before camp begins.

Summer Camps Lineup:
Going Deep Submarine Camp with Mr. Rawls
Back by popular demand for the 5th year in a row! Want to learn how submarines work? Interested in the secrets of the United States Navy’s “Silent Service”? Want to earn the title of “Junior Submariner”? Then rig for dive and come on down to Shady Oak Primary School for “Going Deep Submarine Camp”. The camp will feature submarine history, technical, and tactical training presented by retired Senior Chief Chris Rawls, a veteran of 20 years in the Navy’s sub force. Campers will also take a field trip to Seawolf Park in Galveston where Senior Chief Rawls will guide them on a tour of a real World War II-era submarine.
Admission ticket to the submarine is included in the camp price.
This is a 5-day camp. Join us Monday, June 1 – Friday, June 5 from 9 am – 3 pm.

How to Make A Frog Trap! Camp With Ms. Chapa
In this camp students will learn about the history of cane frogs and why they were introduced to Australia. The students will use the engineering process to help solve an invasive frog problem: safely capturing cane frogs! We will meet 2 new friends Jacob and India who will teach us about their world travels. Together, we will work to engineer a working trap in order to safely relocate cane frogs. Come Down Under with us for the week... there might not be shrimp on the barbie, but there will be a hoppin’ good time. Students will make their origami hopping frog and engineer a working frog trap. Come on and let’s be engineers for a week together.

Art Studio Camp with Mr. Huey
The TAB Art Studio is open for camp! Come join us to experience different art stations like Fiber Arts, Sculpting, Painting, and/or Sketching. With an open studio, the possibilities are endless. We can wait to see what the students create!
This is a 4-day camp. Join us Monday, June 8 – Thursday, June 11 from 9am – 2pm.

Animal Research and Crafts Camp (A) with Ms. F
Come and join Ms. F for a week of fun learning about different animals! We will do research together and make animal crafts. Camp A and Camp B will be researching and creating crafts for different animals.
This is a 4-day camp. Join us Monday, June 8 – Friday, June 11 from 9 am – 2 pm.

Light It Up Circuit Camp with Ms. Chapa
Ever wonder about the Northern Lights? Ever want to make your own Light Show? If the answer is yes, this is the camp for you! We will be learning about different kinds of circuits and the role a switch plays in a circuit. We will use the engineering skills of an electrical engineer to design and build our own light show. Come on and join us for an electric time!.
This is a 4-day camp. Join us Monday, June 8th – Friday, June 11th from 9 am – 2 pm.

Batters Up Baking Camp with Mr. Huey
Cookies, brownies, and cakes, oh my! Yes, this exciting camp is perfect for the child who loves to bake! During this camp, campers will have the chance to bake some of their favorite delicious dishes and maybe even try one they have not had before!
This is a 4-Day Camp. Join us Monday, June 15th – Thursday, June 18th from 9 am – 2 pm

Culinary Delights Cooking Camp with Mr. Huey
So many of our students love to cook and have asked us if we can offer a cooking class this summer. Campers will meet Monday morning and plan the weeks’ lunches. Then we will head to the grocery store and gather all our supplies and ingredients to prepare our gourmet meals. Students will not only learn new recipes and cooking techniques, but they will also have the opportunity to try their hand at budgeting, shopping for ingredients, prepping the food, cooking, and serving each other! In addition, campers will learn the art of food etiquette, conversation, and food presentation. We will end this fun filled week on Friday at Mr. Huey’s house for a grilled lunch and Pool Party! Don’t miss out on this exciting camp!

Cookies from Around the World Baking Camp with Ms. Chapa
Love cookies? Love to bake? Come on over for a week of learning how food and culture intersect. We will learn about different cultures' popular cookies and then bake them up. What goes well with cookies? Hot chocolate! We will also make a few different hot chocolate recipes from around the world.
This is a 4-Day Camp. Join us Monday, June 29th – Thursday, July 2nd from 9am – 2pm

GAME ON! Table-Tops Games Camp with Mr. Huey
Does your child enjoy board games? Do they have a love of competitive card games? Join Mr. Huey in a week long appreciation of all things table top gaming focused, RPGs, chess, card games, and more!!!

Camping Fun Camp with Ms. Chapa
Let’s camp inside for a week together. Smores, crafts, tents, and not so scary stories. What’s better than hanging out with friends making bracelets, snacks, and stories. We will also learn how to make a lantern! Nature journaling is a fun activity to do while camping so during our time together, we will learn learn and practice our nature journaling skills.
This is a 4-Day Camp. Join us Monday, July 13th – Thursday, July 16th from 9 am – 2 pm

This class is offered Monday - Thursday from 2 pm - 3 pm every day a camp is offered in June and July.
